    centrotherm Records Rising Order Intake

    Feb. 11, 2014 - In December and January alone, centrotherm received orders from leading solar cell manufacturers totaling around 30 million euros. In the Photovoltaics business unit, centrotherm therefore currently has an order book position in the single equipment business of around 62 million euros. Customers are ordering wide-ranging equipment packages for expanding their existing production capacities or for setting up new production lines, as the high demand for solar cells and modules, particularly from Japan and the USA, has led to full utilization of their production capacities over the past few months.

    Hanwha Q CELLS and AGR Break Ground on 24.3MW PV Plant in UK

    Feb. 11, 2014 - UK based developer AGR teams up with Hanwha Q CELLS to deliver a new, 24.3MW solar installation in Stowbridge, Cambridgeshire. Once complete, the ground-mounted plant will boast a total of 94,500 Q.Pro-G3 solar panels generating an estimated 22,445MWh of clean energy per year – enough to power 24,800 local households and save approximately 9650 tons of carbon emissions each year.

    Canadian Solar Announces the Sale its Fourth Utility Scale Solar Power Plant in Ontario

    Feb. 6, 2014 - Canadian Solar today announced that its subsidiary, Canadian Solar Solutions Inc., entered into an agreement with a fund managed by BlackRock ("BlackRock"), whereby BlackRock will acquire from Canadian Solar the Oro-Medonte ("Oro") solar power plant totaling 10MW AC at a valuation comparable to other recent project sales completed by Canadian Solar on a per megawatt basis in the Ontario market. This latest transaction follows BlackRock's previously announced acquisition of the Demorestville, Taylor Kidd and Westbrook solar power plants in Ontario, Canada.

    Recurrent Energy Reaches Commercial Operation of 88MW AC in Southern California and Arizona

    Recurrent Energy, a leading North American solar project developer, today announced the commercial operation of six solar photovoltaic (PV) projects totaling 106 megawatts peak (MWp)/88 megawatts AC (MWac) in Southern California and Arizona. The six-project portfolio, which includes five projects in Southern California and one in Arizona, will provide power to three offtakers, including Southern California Edison. In total, the six projects will generate enough clean solar electricity to power more than 17,000 U.S. homes.

    SunEdison Deliver Malaysia's First Airport Solar System of 19MW

    Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), the operator and manager of Malaysia's 39 airports, and SunEdison (NYSE:SUNE), a leading solar technology manufacturer and provider of solar energy services, today announced the launch of Malaysia's first airport solar power system at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The 19 MW (megawatt) DC (direct current) installation — the largest in Malaysia as of interconnection — combines ground-mount, parking canopy and roof-top systems to maximize electricity savings and return on investment while minimizing the use of space.
