2014/07/01Mitsubishi Corporation Participates in Shams Ma'an PV Project in Jordan
June 26, 2014 - Mitsubishi Corporation is pleased to announce its participation in the largest solar photovoltaic project in Jordan, Shams Ma'an. The project will be operated by three companies: MC's 100% subsidiary Diamond Generating Europe, Ltd., Nebras Power Q.S.C. and Kawar Group. Equity share will be DGE 35%, Nebras 35% and Kawar 30%. Operations are scheduled to start in early 2016. -

June 30, 2014 - East Africa's first megawatt class photovoltaic project will be equipped with horizontal single axis tracking systems by IdeemaTec Deutschland. At the site very close to the equator, the solar power plant with the safeTrack Horizon is forecast to increase the total power generation capacity of Rwanda by 8%. -

June 27, 2014 - SunEdison today announced the closing of a US$ 155 million non-recourse debt financing arrangement with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the U.S. Government's development finance institution, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the largest multilateral lender to Latin America and the Caribbean, the Clean Technology Fund (CTF), a multinational fund whose resources are channeled by IDB to support investments aimed at having a transformational impact in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and CorpBanca, one of the most important Chilean commercial banks. The debt proceeds will be used in Chile for the construction of a 72.8MWp (megawatt) solar power plant, to inject energy directly into the Sistema Interconectado del Norte Grande (SING), selling all its production in the spot market (merchant solar). -

First Solar to Build 141MW PV Solar Power Plant in Chile
June 26, 2014 - First Solar, Inc. today announced it has received board approval from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and IFC for financing to support construction of the 141MW (ac) Luz del Norte solar power plant in Chile's Atacama Desert. The loans, which are expected to close later this summer, clear the way for First Solar to proceed with construction planning at the site. Terms of the deals were not disclosed. -

Solarwatt Takes over Parts of Centrosolar
June 26, 2014 – Solarwatt has secured core areas of the insolvent Centrosolar Group. With effect from 1 July the company is acquiring the Centrosolar subsidiaries in Benelux and France. This purchase also means that all Centrosolar's international and European brand rights will be ceded to Solarwatt. -

Canadian Solar Closes Canada's 140MW EPC Agreement with Samsung
June 26, 2014 - Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Canadian Solar Solutions Inc., has entered into an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction agreement with Samsung Renewable Energy Inc. for the construction of a 140MW DC (100MW AC) solar energy farm. The EPC agreement is expected to generate revenue of over C$300 million for Canadian Solar. The construction of the utility-scale solar energy farm will begin in the third quarter of 2014, and is expected to be fully operational in the third quarter of 2015. -

Singulus Technologies To Supply a CIGS Production Machine for Hanergy Solar Group
June 26, 2014 - SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES signed an agreement with Apollo Precision (Fujian) Limited, China, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hanergy Solar Group. The signed contract includes the supply of a production machine with the brand name TENUIS II for buffer layer deposition. "Top quality, high reliability and the long experience of SINGULUS' CIGS production equipment was the basis for this decision", explained Mr. Jianjun Liu, General Manager of Apollo Precision (Fujian) Limited, China.
