Hanwha SolarOne's Subsidiary Obtains Three-year US$23 Million Term-Loan Facility
Hanwha SolarOne Co., Ltd. today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Hanwha SolarOne (Qidong) Co., Ltd. has secured a three-year US$23 million term loan facility (the "Loan") from the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM). The loan will mature on December 11, 2017 with payment of principle to be made at maturity. The interest rate floats with the three-month LIBOR, plus 1.83% per annum. The loan proceeds will be used primarily for working capital purposes. -

LDK Solar Announces 30.6MW Module Sales Agreement
LDK Solar Co., Ltd. today announced that its Chinese subsidiary LDK Solar Nanchang, has signed a new module supply agreement with Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Electric Power Design Institute. Under terms of the agreement, LDK Solar Nanchang will provide modules totaling 30.6MW for a solar project in Ningxia with shipments commencing immediately. -

Eaton Helps Power Africa's 5MW Microgrid Project
Eaton today announced it is providing electrical engineering services and power distribution equipment for the construction of a 5MW solar microgrid system in Annobon Province, an island off Equatorial Guinea in West Central Africa. The microgrid has battery storage and is designed to supply reliable and predictable power to meet the off-grid community’s energy demand. It will be the largest self-sufficient solar microgrid project in Africa. -

SolarCity to Finance Approximately $400 Million in Residential Solar Projects
SolarCity today announced that it has created a new investment program with Bank of America Merrill Lynch to finance an estimated $400 million in solar power projects in 2014 and 2015. The new financing makes it possible for thousands of American homeowners to install solar panels with no upfront cost and pay less for solar electricity than they currently pay for utility power. The new residential program follows BofA Merrill’s prior commitment to finance more than $200 million in commercial solar power projects with SolarCity, and continues the two companies’ long-term partnership to deploy clean energy.
