Acciona Completes 246MW Solar Plant in Atacama, Chile
Acciona Energía has begun the start-up phase of the 'El Romero Solar' photovoltaic solar plant in Latin America, with a maximum capacity of 246MWp (196MW rated power), just 13 months after starting construction work. The company has also completed the assembly of the last sets of panels in the plant: 776,000 photovoltaic modules with a solar capture surface area of more than 1.5 million square meters (equivalent to 211 soccer pitches). -

SMA Partners with LG Chem on Solar Storage Systems
SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA) and LG Chem Ltd. have now partnered to serve storage market. The companies worked together to develop a solution to store photovoltaic power and thus reduce the consumer cost of electricity by more than 80%. The new storage solution is tailored for use in private households and comprises SMA's Sunny Boy Storage 2.5 battery inverter and LG Chem's RESU 10H and 7H storage units. Going forward, the two companies are planning to expand the focus of their collaboration on utility-scale storage solutions with the SMA Sunny Central Storage battery inverter. -

Vivint Solar Secures $200 Million of Tax Equity Commitments

SunPower and GRID Alternatives Announce Three-Year Partnership
SunPower Corp. today announced a new multi-year commitment to GRID Alternatives. Under the partnership, SunPower will donate more than 2MW of solar panels over a three-year period. The commitment will provide enough solar to help power approximately 550 homes and will also provide job training in underserved communities.
