Nippon Paper Industries to Undertake 21MW Solar Project in Tokushima
May 14, 2013 - Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. will launch Shikoku's largest mega-solar project (capacity of approximately 21 megawatts) in collaboration with Mitsubishi Corporation on part of the land (approximately 250,000 m2) owned by Nippon Paper Industries in Komatsushima-shi, Tokushima Prefecture. The construction of the facilities will commence this autumn. The electricity to be generated will be sold to Shikoku Electric Power Co., Inc. from the latter half of 2014 under Japan's feed-in tariff system. -

aleo solar AG Reports Drop in Revenue in the First Quarter of 2013
14 May 2013. aleo solar AG today announced that it generated revenue of EUR 31.1 million in the first three months of 2013. This means that aleo solar's revenue decreased by 58.3% compared to the first quarter of 2012 (EUR 74.6 million). Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) came in at EUR –16.3 million (EUR –8.2 million), and the EBIT margin was –52.4 percent (–11.0 percent). Earnings per share amounted to EUR –1.35 (EUR –0.63). -

Hyundai Heavy to Take Its Hands off of Polysilicon Business
May 07, 2013 - Hyundai Heavy Industries has withdrawn from the polysilicon manufacturing business following a gratis retirement of stocks of Korean Advanced Materials, a polysilicon maker jointly established by Hyundai Heavy and KCC Group. It was because of the protracted downturn in the solar power business, a Hyundai Heavy official said. -

Welspun Energy Commissions India's Largest 50MW Solar PV Project in Rajasthan
March 12, 2013 Welspun Energy Limited (WEL) has commissioned its utility-scale solar project in an astounding five months; well ahead of schedule, creating a new benchmark for the industry. WEL had commissioned part 15MW capacity earlier this year, and the balance 35MW capacity additions have been achieved recently; thereby meeting its commitment of generating clean energy for fueling Rajasthan's growth. Within three days of commissioning, the 15MW capacity is generating a high DC PLF % 0f 22.6% in the stabilization period.
