15 August 2013 - Photon Energy reported its financial results for Q2 2013, its first quarter as a public company listed on the NewConnect segment of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Despite lower revenues due to weak electricity generation, Photon Energy managed to increase EBITDA by 32% to EUR 2.5 million and EBIT eightfold to EUR 0.9 million compared to the same period in 2012. If not for the 26% levy on the revenues of its Czech photovoltaic power plants, the Company would have reached a pre-tax profit and total income (TCI) of EUR 0.65 million, against an actual pre-tax loss of EUR 0.09 million and TCI of EUR 0.06 million. -

August 15, 2013 - Wirsol has completed Europe's large crystalline rooftop solar plant. The solar power plant with a peak capacity of 8.1 megawatts (MW) has been installed on the distribution center of the pfenning logistics GmbH in Heddesheim (southern Germany) and is yet another building block for the sustainably built logistics center "multicube rhein-neckar". -

SolarWorld Reports Business Results for First Half of 2013
August 14, 2013 - SolarWorld AG has confirmed preliminary figures reported on July 18, 2013. During the first half of 2013, the company sold fewer solar power modules and kits than in the same period last year. Groupwide shipments, including the solar wafer business, reached 233MW in the period (H1 2012: 334MW). Declining shipments and persistent price pressure due to dumped modules have reduced consolidated revenue, compared with the first half of last year. SolarWorld achieved total revenue of about € 201 (H1 2012: € 340) million including the wafer business. -

Spire Corporation Reports Results for Second-Quarter 2013
August 13, 2013 - Spire Corporation today reported revenues from continuing operations for the second-quarter ended June 30, 2013 of $3.6 million, a 46% decrease from $6.6 million for the same quarter of 2012. This decline is primarily due to a decrease of $2.8 million in individual module equipment units delivered during the second-quarter of fiscal year 2013 as overcapacity in the global market continues to adversely affect the entire PV industry. -

Borrego Solar Sells 5.5MW Solar Energy Projects to Greenwood Energy
Aug. 13, 2013 - Borrego Solar Systems today announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell 5.5MW DC of solar energy projects to Greenwood Energy. The projects will be designed and built by Borrego Solar in the cities of Gardner and Walpole, Mass., and are just entering the construction phase. The power purchase agreement (PPA) contracts will be owned and serviced by Greenwood Energy. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed. -

Under the terms of the agreement, DEK Solar will make a metallization line available to the Yingli Solar State Key Laboratory to jointly pursue the research and development of metallization technology and solar panels. -

Half-yearly Report 2013 of Aleo Solar: Revenue Decline
August 13, 2013 - aleo solar AG today announced that it generated revenue of EUR 68.3 million in the first six months of 2013. This means that aleo solar's revenue decreased by 58.9% compared to the first half of 2012 (EUR 166.4 million). Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) came in at EUR –29.3 million (EUR –23.5 million), and the EBIT margin was –42.9 percent (–14.1 percent). Earnings per share amounted to EUR –2.54 (EUR –1.87).
