Phoenix Solar E.P.E., the Greek subsidiary of Phoenix Solar AG reports success in realising ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants in Greece. The Phoenix Solar E.P.E. team has already installed a peak power of more than 8 megawatts (MWp) this year. Last week General Manager Dr Christos Protogeropoulos signed another two contracts of 2MWp each, as well as seven contracts for mid-sized projects totalling 1 megawatt peak.

Phoenix Solar is to build a photovoltaic power plant of 2MWp in Kilkis for a private investor. The specific yield in this region is 1,340 kilowatt hours per kilowatt peak (kWh/kWp). The solar power plant will generate around 2,680 megawatt hours a year of environmentally compatible electricity. The size of the second power plant, built for the same investor and situated in the province of Attica, will be nearly 2MWp. The two power plants will be able to supply solar power to around 1,200 Greek households. The Greek owner of the two power plants will receive a feed-in tariff of 37 euro cents per kilowatt hour fed into the grid.

"Last year we built a rooftop photovoltaic power plant with a peak power of 80 kilowatts for this customer. We are delighted that our customer was so satisfied with our service that we have now been commissioned to build these two ground-mounted projects. We are already discussing another project for 2013", said Dr Christos Protogeropoulos.

The seven mid-sized projects will be built for seven different investors. The ground-mounted solar parks are located in the area of Attica and Central Greece.
