Sonnedix Japan, on behalf of the global solar independent power producer (IPP) Sonnedix, has started operation of a 2.5MW rooftop solar PV plant, built on top of a logistics centre in western Japan.
This plant will be supplying approximately 3,000MWh of clean electricity every year, through a 14.5 years Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed last June 2020 – the first long-term corporate PPA secured by Sonnedix Japan.
"We are very excited to celebrate the start of operations of our first roof-top project for Sonnedix Japan, and the first long-term corporate PPA signed by Sonnedix Japan in this country." said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix – "Moreover, we are delighted to partner with a corporate sponsor to support their renewable goals. It is through these types of partnerships that we fulfil our role as a social citizen, and our purpose of harnessing the power of the sun to build a bright future!"
Sonnedix Japan currently manages – on behalf of Sonnedix – 16 projects in operation totalling 290MW, with over 250MW in construction and various stages of development. The IPP continues looking for acquisition and development opportunities in Japan, and across OECD countries.
