Juwi Renewable Energy, the Australian subsidiary of the juwi, is building another solar hybrid project on behalf of its customers. The Brisbane-based company will equip the Agnew Gold Mine in the Eastern Goldfields with a single-axis, 4-megawatt PV system with a cloud forecasting tool and powerful micro-grid control. This was agreed by the operator of the mine power network, Energy Developments Pty Ltd, EDL for short, and juwi. EDL operates a thermal power plant on the mine site for power generation. The solar park built by juwi will be integrated into the existing power generation system. The control is provided by the micro-grid controller developed by juwi.

Upon signing the contract, Stephan Hansen, Executive Board Member at juwi, said, "We are pleased to partner with EDL, one of Australia's largest off-grid power companies, and mining company Gold Fields. Together, we will implement a landmark renewable energy project for the Australian mining industry, providing an efficient, reliable and integrated energy solution. "

James Harman, EDL's Chief Executive Officer, adds, "As a leading global producer of sustainable and distributed energy, EDL is pleased to support Agnew's Gold Fields Mine in developing a fully integrated hybrid power solution that improves reliability, operating costs lowers the environmental impact. We look forward to working with juwi and other partners for Gold Fields. "
